38-year-old dies after car overturns, hits sign, tree, troopers say

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

A 38-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, has died after a crash on April 3, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers.

Troopers said the crash happened about 8:45 p.m. on Parris Bridge Road near Chesnee.

They said the 2012 Nissan crossed the centerline, went off the road and hit a mailbox.

Troopers said the vehicle then overturned and hit a sign and a tree.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was wearing a seat belt and was trapped in the vehicle.

The driver was taken to the hospital and died just after noon Monday, troopers said.
